Our Team

 

Executive Director: Douglas I. Bagby, Ph.D.

Doug earned a B.A. in Sociology and English at Baylor University in Texas, an M.A. in Latin American Studies, and a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Florida.  He is currently an instructor of Anthropology at Santa Fe College.  He has four years experience tutoring college students with learning disabilities at the University of Florida.  Doug also gained vocational services experience working as a Career Counselor for Goodwill Industries in Texas.  Doug first worked for Academic Success in the 2004-2005 academic year as a tutor, mentor, and life skills coach.  He then took time off to complete his Ph.D., returning to Academic Success in 2007.  As the Director of Student Services, his responsibilities included consulting with mentors and life skills coaches, advising students on personal and professional development, and serving as a liaison for Academic Success with the Disabilities Resource Center and faculty at Santa Fe College.  Doug assumed the role of Executive Director in the spring of 2010.

 

Director of Guidance: Angela F. Griglock, B.A.

Angela received her B.A. in English with a minor in History from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania, where she graduated Cum Laude. She holds a Secondary Education Certification in English from King’s College in Pennsylvania. As the Assistant Coordinator of the Writing Center at the University of Scranton, Angela worked with college students to improve their writing skills. Following this, she taught English to 12th grade students, focusing on classical literature. Angela is a member of the National English Honor Society and The National History Honor Society. She tutors Academic Success, Inc., students in English and Writing.  Angela has been a member of the Academic Success team since 2006.  In addition to keeping parents informed of student progress, she is responsible for guiding students on their academic paths, working with them on advisement, course selection, scheduling, and registration. Essentially, she acts as the “Guidance Counselor” of Academic Success.  

 

Education & Life Skills Counselor: Kimberly R. Homrich, M.Ed., Ed.S.

Kimberly earned a B.S. in Psychology and a Master of Education and Education Specialist in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida.  While pursuing her graduate degree, Kimberly worked with at-risk children and teens in elementary and middle school settings, as well as in inpatient and day care facilities that offered Mental Health treatment.  She also initiated and facilitated Professional Development Support Groups for graduate students, which dealt with a variety of issues that first semester graduate students face.  Kimberly is currently an instructor of Life and Career Development at Santa Fe College.  She began working with Academic Success in August 2009 as a tutor, mentor, and life skills coach.  As the Education and Life skills Counselor, Kimberly offers a combination of academic, emotional, and social support to the students at Academic Success.  Her responsibilities include managing weekend social events, mentoring, life skills and organizational coaching, tutoring, mediation, and general student support as needed.
